Tech Tip of the Week: How to Find Expired Certificates On Your Network

Chris Abella

July 13, 2015

This week we're sharing a quick down-and-dirty video guide to finding expiring and expired certificates in your network. ExtraHop makes it easy to find not only expired certs, but which servers those certs rely on.

In the video, I mention the Expiring SSL Certificates Bundle which provides some added features like alerting when certs are approaching expiration.

An added thought that I don't directly address in the video: make sure you are tracking certificates for third-party services on which you rely. If key third-party APIs use expired certificates, it's likely the services you depend on won't work. Not only are you getting ahead of internal issues, but ahead of potential external issues as well.

Check out this video for a walk-through of finding expired or expiring certificates in your network.
