Chris Royer and Jonathan Barton Recognized as 2024 Channel Chiefs

Michael Clark

February 5, 2024

Every year, CRN® releases the Channel Chiefs list to showcase IT vendor and distributor executives who drive the channel strategy and agenda in their organizations. ExtraHop is honored to announce that Chris Royer, AVP, Americas Channel Sales NA, and Jonathan Barton, National Channel Sales Manager, have been named to the 2024 CRN® Channel Chiefs list. Royer is an experienced business director with a 20 year history of strategic partnerships and new business development in IT security, telecom, and data storage. Barton is a seasoned enterprise strategic planning professional with more than 20 years of solutions architecture management, product management, and service management experience in the technology sector.

Investing in Partnerships for Record Growth

It was a record year for ExtraHop in 2023, ending with nearly $200 million in annual recurring revenue. This was due in no small part to efforts from the channel team, supported by Royer and Barton, to build and strengthen key partnerships and integrations with other organizations.

In early 2023, ExtraHop announced a partnership with managed detection and response provider, Binary Defense, to offer the ExtraHop network detection and response (NDR) platform, Reveal(x) as a managed service. Joint customers gained access to 24/7/365 monitoring via Binary Defense’s security operations center (SOC). This combination helps detect and prevent threats earlier in the attack lifecycle with a scalable solution at a fraction of the cost.

ExtraHop also expanded its ongoing partnership with CrowdStrike, amplifying the security capabilities of each company’s offerings and enabling faster threat response times. This expanded partnership benefits customers of both organizations. CrowdStrike customers can now purchase Reveal(x) through the CrowdStrike Marketplace and joint customers have the option to use CrowdStrike® Falcon LogScale™ next-gen SIEM for their record storage with on-premises deployments. And Reveal(x) customers benefit from industry-leading cyber threat intelligence through the CrowdStrike Falcon® Intelligence Premium integration.

Zero trust is a significant priority for all enterprises as the technology climate continues to change over time. To that end, ExtraHop worked with Netskope to develop an extension that offers deep visibility into the behaviors and communications among devices and services in remote and distributed networks. The new integration helps close network visibility gaps to enable effective zero trust architectures. Joint ExtraHop and Netskope customers can now analyze network data to detect and respond to security threats faster.

Building Trust for Mutual Success

Both Royer and Barton describe the relationships they’ve built through the channel as integral to organizational success. “The channel is important because of the relationships and established trust channel partners build with clients over years of mutually beneficial work together,” Barton says. Similarly, Royer believes that “organizations must understand the unique qualities of their partners and how they can work together to maximize each organization’s potential.”
